Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Beamja ("the Platform"), a jobs marketplace operating in Jamaica. By creating an account, posting a job, applying to a role, or otherwise using the Platform you agree to these Terms. Where you accept electronically (for example, by ticking a box on sign-up or verification), that acceptance is binding and enforceable under the Electronic Transactions Act, and you confirm you are authorised to bind the business on whose behalf you act.

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. Employer accounts are operated by a company profile distinct from the individual user profile. The person who registers a business is its provisional administrator until verification confirms the intended administrator. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

Employers may operate while unverified, but their job posts are reviewed by Beamja before going live. To earn the verified badge and publish instantly, a business submits verification appropriate to how it is registered — for example a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) and identification, a Companies Office of Jamaica certificate, or a signed and stamped authorisation letter on company letterhead. You confirm that all documents you submit are genuine and that you are authorised to submit them. Verification may be reviewed periodically and lapses after a sustained period of inactivity.

Postings must be genuine vacancies with accurate details. We may decline, remove, or unpublish any posting — including through our moderation queue for unverified businesses — and may suspend accounts that post misleading, fraudulent, discriminatory, or unlawful content. We do not charge jobseekers and do not guarantee any hire or placement.

Personal data is handled in line with the Jamaica Data Protection Act. Employers and their team members may only use candidate data for genuine recruitment for the role applied to. Access is role-based: some team members may view and rate candidates but cannot download CV files or contact candidates directly. You must not export, sell, or repurpose candidate data, nor retain it longer than necessary for the role.

Do not misuse the Platform: no scraping, no circumventing access controls, no harvesting of candidate or employer data, no off-platform solicitation of fees from candidates, and no uploading of unlawful or infringing content. Agencies acting for a client may only access the listings they create and their applicants.

Posting is free during launch. We will give reasonable notice before introducing paid plans, and any fees will be displayed in Jamaican dollars (JMD) before you incur them.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that present a fraud or safety risk. You may close your account at any time; certain records may be retained where required by law.

The Platform is provided "as is". We are not party to any employment relationship and are not liable for hiring decisions, candidate conduct, or employer conduct. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to fees you paid us in the preceding twelve months.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and the courts of Jamaica have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
